Cube Safety at NASA: A Real Story About the Dangers of Watering a Plant

One late afternoon, I took a plant to the kitchenette sink on my floor and started watering it.
A minute or so later, I looked to my left and saw the assistant building manager on my floor, standing with his arms crossed, glaring at me.
I looked over at him with an expression of What are you doing?
“I’m watching you to make sure you’re safe,” he responded.
I wasn’t in the mood for mediocracy and cube safety.
“Are you sh*ting me!?”
He wasn’t.
